Sustainability

As we mark our 10th Anniversary, we reflect on the journey we’ve been on and the steps we’re taking to enhance our commitment to sustainability. The ticket price you pay directly contributes to the betterment and preservation of the land we are privileged to call our festival home.

Here’s how we’re promoting an eco-friendly ethos:

EDUCATION AND INSPIRATION

We perceive sustainability not just as an idea, but a living, breathing element of our festival. Our aim is to inspire visitors, artists, and suppliers, educating them about the importance and benefits of sustainable practices. We’re determined to minimise negative impacts on our environment without compromising the festival experience.

WORKING IN HARMONY WITH NATURE

Our festival site is part of the Natura 2000 network, a collection of conservation areas hosting rare and threatened species. We respect this designation and work towards fostering a symbiotic relationship between human activities and nature conservation.

PLANTLIFE AND WILDLIFE

In tune with our eco-ethos, we’re committed to protecting endemic plants in the area and preserving the history-laden forest. Our recent investment in planting 50-80 birch trees is a testament to this commitment. Furthermore, we are conscious of the diverse bird species, including the Eisvogel and the newfound beaver population in the area.

ECOSYSTEM CONSERVATION

The crystalline lake, a central feature of our festival site, boasts a unique eco-balance of freshwater shells and fish life. We are committed to preserving its water quality and ensuring the continued wellbeing of its aquatic life.

ECO-FRIENDLY INFRASTRUCTURE

We’ve established an eco-conscious infrastructure including a grid-connected power supply eliminating the need for generators, fresh and wastewater systems, logistics-friendly road networks, and permanent toilet and shower blocks.

ENGAGING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Our festival is not just an event, but an integral part of the local Garbicz community. From employing locals and sourcing local resources to allowing locals to set up businesses on-site, we believe in giving back to our host community.

TENT CAMPS AND BASSLINER

Opting for our Tent Camp  not only offers convenience but also minimizes potential waste from tents, chairs, and plastic. Similarly, by using our Bassliner service, you help us reduce emission levels significantly.

OUR SUSTAINABILITY CORE VALUES

We are committed to responsible water management, minimizing environmental damage, efficient waste management, and sensible power consumption.

Our ‘Trashies’ team tirelessly works throughout the festival, gathering rubbish, ensuring our site remains clean and green. Join us as we strive to shape Garbicz Festival as a sustainable event, preserving the charm and ecology of our beautiful location.
